太刚了！《纽约时报》这篇社论不一般
《纽约时报》与美国总统特朗普素来不和。
早在2016年，《纽约时报》就曾发表题为《特朗普，我们决不可能好好相处》的文章。
而特朗普也毫不客气，他多次攻击《纽约时报》，称其“很失败”且“传播假新闻”。
近日，二者之间的对立再次升级。
10月16日，《纽约时报》编委会（Editorial Board）集体发表了一篇社论，标题为《结束我们国家的危机》。
文章开门见山，第一句话便是“特朗普竞选连任是二战以来对美国民主最大的威胁。”
随后，文章用一系列的强势排比细数了特朗普任期内的种种“罪行”——
“他滥用职权，否认其政治对手的合法性，打破了几代人以来将这个国家团结在一起的传统和规范；他将个人的商业及政治利益凌驾于公众利益之上；他对美国人民的生命和自由表现出令人震惊的冷漠；他不配担任美国总统。”
同时，文章还指出，“特朗普在一个任期内所做的错事，比几十年来历任美国总统加在一起还多。”
He has abused the power of his office and denied the legitimacy of his political opponents, shattering the norms that have bound the nation together for generations.
He has subsumed the public interest to the profitability of his business and political interests. He has shown a breathtaking disregard for the lives and liberties of Americans. He is a man unworthy of the office he holds.
文章还犀利地讽刺道，“若要在美国现代史上评选出最糟糕的总统，那么特朗普没有任何对手……过去四年给了我们一个教训——特朗普解决不了这个国家的紧迫问题，因为他就是这个国家所面临的最紧迫的问题。”
Mr. Trump stands without any real rivals as the worst American president in modern history...The lesson of the last four years is that he cannot solve the nation’s pressing problems because he is the nation’s most pressing problem.
文章首尾呼应，在最后一段写道，“如今，在这个危险的时刻，是时候由美国人民通过投票来维护、保护和捍卫这个国家了——对于更支持共和党的人来说也是如此。”
Now, in this moment of peril, it falls to the American people — even those who would prefer a Republican president — to preserve, protect and defend the United States by voting.
纵观全文，《纽约时报》火力全开，对特朗普的失职和渎职进行了全面而强烈的谴责。该社论也很快引起了其他媒体的注意。《赫芬顿邮报》在解读该文章时明确表示，《纽约时报》是在恳请选民将特朗普“选”下台。
据英国广播公司（BBC）实时更新的民调数据显示，目前民主党候选人拜登在选民的支持率上还是以52%领先特朗普十个百分点。
眼下，距离2020美国大选还有两周多的时间，但是已有超2200万选民提前投票了，四年前2016总统大选的同一时刻，这一数据仅为600万。
